Giving to CALA: Annual Gifts
Every day we see accomplishments made possible through private gift dollars that underwrite scholarships, fund internships and offset costs of educational programs. Approximately 75% of CALA’s budget must come from tuition, fees and private funding each year to maintain our standard of excellence. In a time of tight state budgets, your annual gift ― big or small ― makes a significant impact on CALA. The participation among alumni and friends such as you, coupled with the support from our faculty and staff members, speaks volumes to our publics. And very importantly, your gift not only helps CALA keep education affordable, but it helps prepare CALA graduates for a successful impact on our professions.
As CALA grows year by year, so does the value of your degree from CALA or your association with this organization. Your donation today helps CALA enhance its student opportunities, thereby making a degree from CALA not only more affordable, but worth more in the job market.
There are two kinds of annual gifts: unrestricted and restricted. An unrestricted gift will be used at the Dean’s discretion, based on the most important needs of CALA at the time. You may also designate your gift to a specific area, such as an existing scholarship fund or CALA program. Our guarantee to you: tell us how you want your gift spent and we'll see to it.
Some companies also match their employee’s donations on a 1-1 basis or as high as a 3-1 basis. For instance, if you donated $100 to CALA, and your company matched it 3-1, that’s a $300 gift to impact CALA! Check with your company’s human resource office for more information about “Matching Gift Programs.”
You may choose to make your annual donation to CALA either by contacting the College directly, or, The University of Arizona Foundation spearheads the Annual Fund drive for the entire campus. Through this annual drive, the Telephone Outreach Program or direct mail appeals offer more opportunities to give to CALA.
Your annual gift, no matter what size, is greatly valued by CALA. The combined gifts of all of our alumni and friends create an immense impact on CALA. All gifts are 100% tax-deductible as allowed by law. CALA’s fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.
